Monday 1st February 2010 "A new year’s message from Mars, via Venus, with love"

Nadia Ansari

Nadia Ansari

Whether you’re familiar with coaching or it’s a completely new concept to you, I’m pretty confident you will have heard of the book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus. I first came across it in the form of Mars and Venus on a Date, when I started dating a particularly wonderful, but equally alien ‘Martian’ male... I’d often find myself pulling out my hair and despairing at the differences between us, at times thinking the relationship must surely be doomed! This was until a dear friend lent me her copy of the book... that was almost two years ago and I’m pleased to say that nowadays the relationship is a much happier and calmer, ever-growing and blossoming one.

So that’s where my enthusiasm for the Mars Venus work came from – because I experienced first-hand how much it worked. I’ve always been fascinated by human interactions despite being originally trained as a Business Analyst after following what others recommended as a ‘sensible degree’ in Information Systems Analysis. Even though I gained a first class honours in this, after some time trying to do the sensible thing, I still felt drawn more drawn to humans over computers.

Thus, as you might imagine, when the opportunity arose for me to be the first person in the UK to be trained by Dr. John Gray, said author of the now world renowned Mars & Venus name, I was pretty excited. I am proud to be the first Mars Venus coach in the UK and part of the international and ever-growing Mars Venus team – in fact I’m so committed to the idea of coaching that I have a coach too.

The reason for this is I believe continued education is essential for personal growth, and as such we could all use a coach to help us achieve our best – it is after all the reason that so many musicians and athletes already use coaches... not because they are at the bottom of the well and not sure how to get out, but because they want to continuously improve in order to achieve their best. It is personal development and learning that leads us to the wonderful feelings of empowerment and a ‘can do’ attitude. This renewed sense of understanding and achievement can have a fantastic impact on your personal and business life; as one naturally compounds the other.

OK, so that’s all very nice, but where does my drive to help you set your goals and achieve them come from? Well, just under four years ago I was diagnosed with an auto-immune condition that not only was making me very unwell, but also, as I was repeatedly informed, was ‘barely treatable and certainly incurable’. I went through a period of time feeling very sorry for myself and thinking ‘why me’ - but eventually found that far too depressing not to mention limiting – and so sought out other ways to resolve it. And I did.

This desire to seek out a different solution led to me trying all sorts of actions, including undertaking a diploma in nutritional therapy.
And that’s really what coaching and training is about: recognising you’re in a situation that you’d like to change, then looking at all the various options that could enable you to make that change – then possibly trying a few that don’t work before finding one that does – following it through... and bingo, before you know it, you’re there.

It’s for that reason I’m passionate in helping people actualise and realise their full potential, both at home and at work. To help you to achieve these results, I hold seminars and one-to-one coaching sessions based on the Mars Venus Coaching principles. I have recently added a new ‘string to my bow’ by gaining an ILM accredited certificate in Action Learning; “a method of collaborative learning where a small group of learners meet regularly to reflect on real work issues. Its basic philosophy is that the most effective learning takes place when we are faced with a real problem to solve”.
Drawing on all these elements of life experiences and training, my focus is primarily on your personal and/or business goals; as well as helping men and women understand, respect, and appreciate their differences in both personal and professional relationships. Whether you have a general feeling that you’re not completely satisfied with life, love, work or play – or you have a very specific idea of exactly what is lacking in your life but are not quite sure how to change it, I can help you figure it out and get the changes rolling in.

Look forward to seeing you on 1st February 2010

'STEP OUTSIDE - why treading unfamiliar paths can lead to more fulfilling lives'.

Fear is the gatekeeper to our comfort zones. Many people fear change, failure and even success.

Like the turtle, we can only move forward when we stick our neck out. When we achieve something that we, hitherto, considered impossible, it opens our eyes to possibilities that we could never have imagined. When we are stretched by a new experience, we grow as human beings.

In this interactive workshop, Alan will share his experiences of challenging self-limiting beliefs; widening his self-image to accommodate new roles; eliminating avoidances; monitoring negative self-talk; travelling less familiar paths; and changing his mindset/behaviours.

Alan commenced stuttering during early childhood.

His speaking activities have caused him to travel extensively in the UK and USA during recent years. In addition to instructing courses for persons who stutter (in both countries), Alan has addressed trainee speech-language therapists at several American universities.

He has facilitated workshops on three different continents, while also undertaking a number of trips to Scandinavia, as guest of the Swedish Speech Academy.

In 2004, Alan was a keynote speaker at the World Congress for People Who Stutter, held in Western Australia, where he also won the public speaking contest.

Alan Badmington

Alan was a finalist in the Association of Speakers Clubs UK public speaking championships in 2005 and 2008.

He has participated in television and radio programmes about communication skills, while also appearing as a studio guest on the BBC Radio Wales Roy Noble and Jamie Owen/Louise Elliott shows.

His papers/articles/poems about stuttering (and related subjects) have been translated into several different languages. They appear in numerous publications and on various international websites/forums.

Alan is an occasional unpaid instructor with the McGuire Programme.

Monday 5th October 2009 The Last Diet with Nathan Hewitt

Nathan Hewitt was only 14 years of age when he was diagnosed with obesity. Weighing in at 286 pounds just over 20 stone Nathan experienced many difficulties in the making of friends, fitting in, finding cloths and enjoying the young life of 14 years like most young teenagers do. Unfortunately for Nathan  each and everyday was a struggle. He was constantly verbally bullied and humiliated by people everywhere he went. Not only did he then suffer with depression but he was diagnosed with a condition called Gynecomastia. This made matters worse for Nathan' mentally, emotionally and physically within his body.

Nathan Hewitt at 20 stone aged 14

After experiencing numerous events of humiliation Nathan decided to take full control of his life. He made a decision not to settle for less than what he could be. He made a list of everything he wanted to achieve in his life and made it happen. He has learned not only to take full and complete control of his mind, but his whole entire body. Mastering his emotions, habits, diet, health and physical appearance. He walks today 132 pounds(9 stone) lighter  he has adapted a vegetarian diet and low dairy intake, and a whole new lifestyle. and now dedicates himself to doing what he can to help others not only achieve success within there body, but within their whole lifestyle.

Monday 1st June 2009 “Why you're not choosing the life you’re living. What is, and how to change it-now!” Richard Wilkins is the UK's Minister for Inspiration and is the founder of ‘The School For Super-Heroes’

Richard Wilkins

Richard has an amazing and Inspiring rags to riches to rags to richer story, which is a fantastic example of change and transformation. He left school at 15 with zero qualifications. By 37 he was a self-made millionaire living in a 35-room mansion, set in 70 acres of parkland, driving not one, but a fleet of Ferraris ! A traumatic divorce was soon followed by the worst recession in history, which wiped out his property company and wiped out Richard. Alone, terrified and broke Richard hit rock bottom.

Ready to retire at 40, Richard had now lost his family, his home, his business and worst of all he lost his self worth. In his own words, "rock bottom is when the light at the end of the tunnel goes out". Literally Richard planned his own suicide. It was at that time that Richard overheard a conversation that would change his life. He overheard someone say, "Old Fred, he'll get there one day" Richard had enjoyed a lottery winner’s lifestyle but had never once thought that he was 'there'. Richard went in search of 'there' and found it! He discovered that the only reason we ever do anything is to feel good, not think good, that we are emotionally not intellectually driven. Richard realised that he had been looking in the wrong filing cabinet, he had been looking in the filing cabinet marked ‘external’ when what he really wanted was ‘internal’, the feeling.

Richard realised that feelings don’t come from things, that we already own the feelings we want, that we already own the end result! Richard developed the unique ability to transcend reason and access the feelings we all long for. The effect was huge, dramatic, permanent and life-changing. Soon everyone wanted to know how Richard had achieved the huge transformation in the face of such adversity. The result... his world changed from Black & White to Colour . Today Richard is the international author of five best selling self-help books and Inspiring CD programmes . He has reached literally millions of people through his many TV appearances and magazine articles and he is the founder of ‘The School for Super-Heroes’

Richard’s company is called ‘The Ministry of Inspiration Ltd’ and he is the self-elected ‘Minister for Inspiration’. Richard now speaks for many top organisations achieving amazing results. Some of these companies include…

Nadia Ansari
